Many users have complained over the sluggish performances of the single core Atom processor – but everything changed when Intel showcased their latest dual-core Atom N550 processor. Basically, these microprocessors operate at the 1.5GHz clock speed, and it comes with 1MB of cache, and supports DDR3 RAM modules as well. Also, Intel has claimed that the battery life for the Atom N550 is comparable to the Atom N450 processor.

Intel has also mentioned that the N550 processor is more responsive, whereby users who are planning to do heavy multi-tasking would definitely see a significant improvement over the computer’s responsiveness.

Basically, Intel has already deployed over 70 million Atom processors worldwide, and with the introduction of the dual-core N550 processor, I’m sure that Intel would definitely continue to dominate the market.
